How to Use Taobao App in US?
Many people don't really know how to use Taobao, especially since the Taobao app is in Chinese. There are plenty of guides out there on how to order through the Taobao website, but not many cover the app. So today, I'm going to show you how to use the Taobao app and place orders on your own—no agent needed!
How to Add Address on Taobao
- Open the Taobao App: Launch the Taobao app on your phone.
- Go to 「我的淘寶」 (My Taobao): Tap on 「我的淘寶」 at the bottom of the screen to access your account.
- Tap “設定”the Settings Icon: In the top right corner, tap the gear icon to open the settings.
- Set Up “國家/地區、語言、貨幣”(Country, Language, and Currency): In the settings, select "全球"as your area, and "USD 美元" as your payment currency.

Add Your Delivery Address:

- Complete the Setup: Once your address is added, you're ready to shop.
How to Place an Order and Pay on Taobao
- Select Your Product: Choose your items and tap "立即購買" (Buy Now).
- Automatic Currency Conversion: Taobao will automatically show the price in USD.
- Choose Your Payment Method: If it's your first time, you can add a new credit/debit card.Choose "使用新的Credit/Debit Card" (Use New Credit/Debit Card). Taobao accepts major cards like Visa, MasterCard and Visa) American Express, or even Google Pay through the "更多付款方式" (More Payment Methods) option.
- Enter Card Details: Fill in your card information, and proceed with payment.
Tip: If you choose Taobao's official shipping, refer to the Taobao Shipping Guide to help pick the best shipping option. When check out, you need to pay sales tax.
If you use a third-party freight forwarder like JYS, you won't see Taobao's official shipping at checkout, which is perfectly normal.
How to Track Your Taobao Package
- Track in Taobao: After placing your order, go to 「我的淘寶」 (My Taobao).
- For Third-Party Shipping: In the "我的訂單" (My Orders) section, check the shipping status in the "待收貨" (To Be Received) section.
- For US Address: If you added a US address, go to “跨境物流” (Cross-Border Logistics), and check your package in the "物流訂單" (Logistics Orders) section. If you've chosen consolidation shipping, go to 「待集運」 (To Be Consolidated) to track its arrival at the warehouse.
What to Do After Your Package Arrives at the JYS Warehouse

Email JYS Customer Service: Once your package arrives at the JYS warehouse, email customer service at service@jiyunservice.com with the following:
- Package details (quantity, weight, etc.)
- Your preferred shipping method (air freight or sea freight)
- Any additional services you may need (eg, extra packaging)

Wait for a Quote: JYS will send you a quote and further instructions. You may need to provide photos of the items.
- Add Items to Cart: Add the items to your cart as usual.
- Make the Payment: Follow the payment instructions from JYS and complete your payment.
- Track the Shipment: After payment, you can track your package's status in the "Order Tracking" section.
