Taobao Consolidation Canada Tariffs

When using Taobao's official consolidated shipping service, you need to pay taxes and fees yourself. The following are the Canadian tariff standards:

• Tax threshold: Canada’s tariffs and taxes on imported goods are calculated based on the declared value of the package (i.e. the price of the goods + shipping + insurance).
• Tariff threshold: Packages below 20 Canadian dollars (¥10 RMB) are generally exempt from duties and taxes.
• Over $20 CAD: Import taxes and duties may apply.

• GST/HST: Goods imported into Canada are subject to federal goods and services tax (GST) or provincial harmonized sales tax (HST), with general tax rates ranging from 5% to 15%, depending on the province of the consignee.
• Tariffs: Tariffs vary according to the type of goods and classification criteria. For example:
  • The tariffs on clothing, footwear, etc. are high (can reach 18% or more);
  • Electronic products (such as mobile phones and computers) are usually zero-duty, but are subject to GST/HST.
• Handling Fee: If the package is taxed by Canada Post or a courier, the consignee may be required to pay an additional handling fee (for example, Canada Post's handling fee is $9.95 CAD).

If the package is not inspected, usually no duties are payable; however, if it is inspected and the declared value is over 20 Canadian dollars, duties and taxes may apply.
